Saddle up for Homecoming Week, Mavericks

Embrace your Maverick spirit during this year’s events

The University of Texas at Arlington’s 2024 Homecoming Week will run from Sunday, Nov. 3, through Saturday, Nov. 9.

Mavericks will deck the UTA campus in blue, orange and white for an unforgettable Homecoming celebration. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the rest of the Maverick community will have a chance to support UTA’s athletic teams and showcase their Maverick spirit during a week of events.

Homecoming Week highlights include:

  • EXCEL Campus Activities presents a magical night of elegance and charm with UTA's annual Maverick Formal on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Bluebonnet Ballroom of the University Center. There will be a live DJ, photobooths, free food, an open dance floor and more to keep the night going.
  • Enjoy a sports bonanza at College Park Center all week long. The volleyball team will play on Monday, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. against Abilene Christian and on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. against Utah Valley. The women’s basketball team will play Arlington Baptist on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. The men’s basketball team will play on Monday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. against UNT Dallas and on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m. against Louisiana Tech.   • Enjoy a laugh on Homecoming Comedy Night as we watch UTA’s talented students and America’s Got Talent finalist Leanmore Jonasi. The event is Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Rosebud Theatre in the University Center at 7 p.m.
  • Join in on the fun and compete to win the ultimate prize of Homecoming Chili Cook-Off champion. The cook-off is open to all UTA students, faculty, staff and alumni groups. It will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at noon in the University Center.
  • The Homecoming Street Festival will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 2 – 5 p.m. before the women’s basketball game. Head over to Spaniolo Drive to enjoy a night of delicious food, carnival-style games and rides, giveaways, music and fun-filled activities for all.
  • UTA will welcome Travis Porter to the Texas Hall stage for this year’s Homecoming Bash on Friday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. The rest of the lineup will drop on Friday, Nov. 1. To purchase tickets, go to https://utatickets.com/.
  • Join the annual Homecoming 5K on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. This year’s Homecoming route is a scenic one throughout the UTA campus. Both walking and running entries are accepted. All proceeds will go to the UTA Emergency Assistance Fund. It is open to all UTA students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. Register at utamac.link/hoco5k.
  • Enjoy a Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 1 – 3 p.m. after the women’s volleyball game. This event will feature activities, giveaways, photo opportunities and more. Come with your student organization, department or even solo!
