Arlington’s wait for The National Medal of Honor Museum is nearly over. On March 25, the museum will open alongside National Medal of Honor Day.
In celebration of the opening, the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation is hosting its Mission to Inspire Spectacular event from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on March 22 at Mark Holtz Lake, right outside the museum located at 1861 AT&T Way.
Guests are asked to RSVP for the free event online.
Attendees can hear speeches from Medal of Honor recipients, visit sponsor booths, explore the Kids Zone, watch various performances and more.
Concession stands and restrooms will be available at Choctaw Stadium. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs since the main attractions will be lakeside.
At 9 p.m., the sky will shine with a 360-degree storytelling feature showcasing fireworks, drones, video and various musical arrangements, including a live performance by the U.S. Navy Commodores Band.
While service animals are allowed, organizers ask attendees to leave all other pets at home due to the nature of fireworks and drone lights. Prohibited items include bags larger than 16-by-16-by-8 inches, clothing with profane language, firearms, knives, laser pointers and others. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
Tickets for the National Medal of Honor Museum start at $30 and are available for purchase online or at the museum. Opening day will begin with a 9:30 a.m. patriotic ceremony and offer exclusive first looks at immersive exhibits and interactive displays.
Boeing will sponsor tickets for all U.S. veterans who visit the museum March 25 to 28. Attendees must show a valid ID at the museum’s guest services to redeem the offer.
