UTA Parking and Transportation Services provides spring 2025 updates

With students returning to campus Monday, Parking and Transportation Services is geared up for their arrival with permits for sale and lot updates. According to PATS’ website, spring 2025 parking permits can be purchased through the MavPark portal. Permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Permits allow students to park in designated facilities from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with loosened rules during evenings and weekends. Students can add one vehicle to a permit, but updates can be made through the MavPark portal for temporary or permanent vehicle replacements. Arlington Municipal Court will continue to occupy the former School of Social Work building and will be using Lot F15 exclusively until building renovations are completed, expected in October. Student Upgrade permits are now allowed to use upgrade areas in Lots 36 and 49 starting at noon. Lot 56 will be partially closed to support research space to be used by the Civil Engineering Department and Lot 55 will be closed for temporary portable faculty buildings. Lot 35 is closed due to Maverick Hall’s construction and the north section of Lot F12 was reduced to provide a larger greenbelt along UTA Boulevard. Lot 36’s Student Upgrade section is expanding to all of Lot 36. A part of the space will allow General Student Commuter parking beginning at 2 p.m. Another part will remain reserved for Student Upgrade permits through 7 p.m. West Street is closed to vehicle traffic between Doug Russell Road and South West Street to provide better pedestrian safety, according to the website. Entrances to Lots 49 and 52 are closed too. Students are encouraged to use the UTA Parking Finder app for real-time lot occupancy based on their permit type, as well as future occupancy at the time students arrive on campus. More information on mapping and permit validation can be found on PATS’ website. @arj3395 news-editor.shorthorn@uta.edu
