- Feb 22All day"Love is in the Archives" Mini-ExhibitIn celebration of Valentine's Day, UTA Special Collections has a mini-exhibit on display throughout the month of February, showcasing items in the collection relating to expressions of friendship, affection, and romance through a variety of historical artifacts.Special Collections invites the UTA community to learn more and view the mini-exhibit during the Central Library's open hours, Tuesday, February 4 - Friday, February 28. The exhibit is located just outside the doors of Special Collections in the Atrium, located on the sixth floor of the Central Library.
- Feb 22All dayThe Battle of Buena Vista Mini ExhibitUTA Special Collections presents a mini-exhibit on the Battle of Buena Vista. 178 years ago on February 22-23, 1847, U.S. troops led by General Zachary Taylor met Mexican troops led by General Santa Anna. Although neither side gained much, both nations claimed victory and used the battle as a rallying cry. Materials include first-hand accounts written by soldiers at the battle, hand drawn maps, celebratory sheet music, and newspaper articles that tell the story of the battle from both sides.
