Development will present Relationships with Corporate and Private Foundations, a session on understanding the benefits, processes, and finer points of grantseeking in the philanthropic sector. Learn about the clear—as well as subtle—differences between public and private funders and how to navigate the often multi-layered, time-sensitive solicitation process in the private realm. Development’s Corporate and Foundation Relations team is poised to serve as the liaison for approaching private funders fostering charitable intentions and will be the guides for this session.Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. Check out the UTA Planetarium's 2025 Concert Series where we blend art with science.Join us for an evening of food, drinks, and live music in the planetarium dome featuring local artist Diana Rojas. Appetizers are included with the price of admission. Reception with food and drinks start at 6 p.m. in the planetarium atrium and the concert starts at 7 p.m.This concert is a special event, as Diana’s performance in the planetarium is part of the 2025 Glass Art Society conference, which UTA will be hosting May 14-17. The visuals that will appear on the dome were created by Diana Rojas herself as part of a glass art installation.Diana Rojas is an interdisciplinary artist whose research explores human attempts and desires to engage with the invisible through installation, video, sound, and sculpture. Informed by her interests in philosophy, history, physics, and material science, she approaches the role of technology in art making as the catalyst for larger conversations of existence, consciousness, and metaphysics. Her work, which exists physically and virtually, has been exhibited, screened, and published nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of several OER Grants from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.Diana was born in Mexico, received her MFA from the University of North Texas, and is an Assistant Professor of Sound Art at the University of Texas at Dallas.There will be a cash bar. This exhibition is presented in support of the Glass Art Society Conference: Trailblazing New Traditions, and includes a wide variety of techniques used to create and design glass artworks. Selections include works from the Maverick Art Collection, featuring Faculty and Student creations, as well as notable works from the UTA Fine Art Collections. This exhibit examines the evolution that glass media has undergone through the decades and how broadly it can be adapted in its aesthetic qualities and appeal. Ranging from the 1980s to the present, many of the international artists included in the collection have pushed past the traditional mindset of glass as a transparent utilitarian object to offer the viewer a colorful exploration of their craft and its incredible adaptability.Please join us in celebrating these works throughout the 2025 Summer semester, Monday, May 12 – Thursday, August 28, 2025.
