Aaron Gouge, head coach of the Movin’ Mavs, said he is very excited for his team this season.

“We have a great group of guys on the team, and we are already miles ahead of where we were at this point last year,” he said. “I look forward to seeing what these guys can do by the end of the year.”

The Lady Movin’ Mavs ended the tournament with a 3-1 record. One of their wins was against longtime rival the University of Alabama, whom they had not been beaten in five years.

Morgan Wood, head coach of the Lady Movin’ Mavs, said the weekend’s tournament set a good foundation for the rest of the season.

“This weekend really showed how hard they have been working since taking second place at the end of last year,” Wood said. “I look forward to getting into the swing of the season and getting better every day.”
