Writing Literature Reviews

Wednesday, April 2, 2025 6:00–7:00 PM
  • Description
Hosted by the UTA Writing Center, this graduate student workshop titled, "Writing Literature Reviews," will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 virtually (via Teams), 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

In this workshop, an experienced graduate consultant will discuss the purpose of a literature review in scholarly work, the structure and components of a literature review, and the differences between a literature review in the arts and one in the sciences. In addition, the consultant will provide best practices on synthesizing sources that cluster around a position or issue, transitioning between positions, and using sources effectively. Thanks to collective works of numerous graduate student consultants from the Writing Center, the director of the Writing Center, and based upon the numerous literature reviews brought to the Writing Center, this workshop is sure to help break down some of the common challenges and provide successful methods for writing a literature review. While crafted for graduate students, undergraduates are more than welcome to attend this virtual workshop as well.
