The Pilates Method is a full-body conditioning program that develops deep abdominal and back strength, together with increased flexibiity and ease of movement. This class is aimed at "core stability," designed to work on lengthening muscles to help tone and strengthen muscles, using breathing to enhance relaxation.

Jeff Campbell, Director of Core Facilities, will present an overview of UTA's shared resources (instrumentation, equipment, facilities, and services) in the university's research infrastructure. The presentation will cover available resources, their location, how to access them, and who to contact. It will also include an overview of the Core Facilities Program, which the VPRI Office launched last year to support and improve Core Facilities across the campus.Eileen Clements, Interim Executive Director of UTARI, will provide an overview of the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute (UTARI) including current research thrusts, partnerships, and opportunities for collaboration. UTARI is an applied research organization committed to bridging the gap between academic discovery and real-world application (https://utari.uta.edu/). The faulty and research scientists of UTARI actively collaborate across UTA’s various colleges, fostering interdisciplinary research and innovation. The institute engages with universities, national laboratories, and industry partners throughout North Texas and across the nation, driving impactful research initiatives.This workshop is open to any UTA faculty, staff, or students interested in research at UTA. UTA Libraries welcomes you to the annual event- Datathon. This is a 24-hour run of data-based competitive events. With more than 200 participants, the students will utilize their analytical skills along with data to address the given challenges. The event, happening April 12-13 in the SWSH Building, is open to all majors. The event will have participants from diverse majors, particularly those in computer science, data science, information systems, math, and statistics. Do you like Space? Do you like Maps? How about maps of space?! UTA Special Collections is proud to present a new exhibition titled Cosmic Cartography . Featuring maps and charts dating from 1548 to 2024, the exhibit explores humanity's desire to explain our understanding of the universe through maps. In the exhibit, you will see maps that explore the model of the universe - from the ancients who believed in an Earth-centered system to Copernicus who put the Sun at the center, and beyond; maps of our Solar System and planetary bodies; and maps that explore Constellations and the Zodiac.Giveaways will be available while supplies last!The exhibit is located on the sixth floor of Central Library in Special Collections. It is open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
